    Elizabeth (Betsy) Weddel was a daughter of Charity Curry and James Ransom Weddel who was next to the youngest son of Mary Wallen/Walling and John Weddle Sr. (b. 1739). George Matlock was born in Tennessee. The Matlocks were formerly from Virgina before they emigrated to Tennessee. They came to Jackson County, Indiana from Tennessee in the late 1840's. Granddaughter, Leona Matlock, states they were married in Hawkins County, Tennessee in 1839.
