[1] Charles became a pupil at Bury Free Grammer School in 1820. In 1826, Charles left school to be articled to a surgeon, in which proffession, he later qualified. On the 5 Oct 1810 Sarah Ann Reeve was baptized by the father of Charles, at Whiting St. Independent Church. Sarah Ann Reeve, eldest daughter of Mr John Reeve, a music seller in Abbeygate Rd. Bury became Charles' wife. Charles was now a chemist and druggist in the High St. at Clare in Suffolk. His sister Emma was a witness at the wedding and could have been a friend of Sarah Anne. In the church yard of a small village near Bradford is a tombstone inscribed, "here lies old Dewhurst of Dewhurst Hall, Armytgerm beleived to be an ancesterof one of an old Saxon familoy, who fell fighting under Harold at the Battle of Stamford BRidge; and also his brother at Hastings. The village of Dewhirst of Osset and Wakefield Crests and Arms are identical. In olden days the name was spelt "Dewhurste," i.e. AD 1299, Henry de Dewhurste, County York. These names were found in anceint deeds in the Public Record Office.

[2] Sarah Ann Reeve was b. 7 September 1810, and Chr. by Rev. Charles Chantler Dewhirst at Bury St. Edmunds Whting Street Chapel, Non-conformist Church, daughter of John Reeve and Sarah and d. 24 May 1884. Interstingly, her Christening Record is listed right under the one of the man who was to become her husband... Also not listings of Greene family members who also become related to the family...

[3] In the 1881 Census, Charles shows up working as a Bank Manager living in Norfolk, Aylesham, England and married to a Catherine S. ? who was b. in Norfolk, Norwich, England

[4] Children of this couple were: Noel Dewhirst, b. abt 1886, George St W, London, England; appears in 1911 Census as Military, 59 Coy R.G.A, a Gunner in India and Madeline (aka Madelina) Frodsham Dewhirst b. Q3 1887, Stowmarket, Suffolk, England who in 1901 at the age of 13 shows up in the household of three Campton sisters as a Boarder. Between 1914-1920, she served as a Nurseand Head Driver in the British Committee, French Red Cross and won the British War Medal and Victory Medal.
